Designed as part of major initiative by Vic Roads to discourage vehicular road use on the Eastern freeway when travelling from the outer suburbs into the CBD. The brief was to provide a comfortable station for travellers to wait for their bus to arrive. The accommodation includes an enclosed air-conditioned room as well as spread-out covered external seating. All designed to be easily seen from the a distance and recognized as focal point to enable travelers to utilize the service. The building is designed to be vandal proof and of low maintence.
